Everton return to Premier League action this Sunday as they face West Ham in London.
Before the break, the Blues went three points clear of the relegation zone as they beat Newcastle 1-0 with Alex Iwobi scoring a late winner. This win was the first for the Toffees since they beat Leeds 3-0 on 12 February.
Speaking to the media today, the Everton boss gave injury updates on Fabian Delph and Yerry Mina. Speaking about Mina, Lampard said: "He's a big player for us, a player of stature and personality. I haven't had much on-pitch time to work with him unfortunately. Centre-back is a crucial area and he's been a big miss."
Asked about how important the international break has been for his side, Lampard said: "It's been welcome. I think at a time with a run-in coming, it's good for them to play for their countries. We've used it as positively as they can.
""I challenge them all the time to show what they're made of. There's nothing in my comments [post-Palace] which is too far from the norm. The character is there, it's just applying it in the right way is always crucial."
The Blue's boss knows that this is a tough fixture for Everton with David Moyes building a strong team.
Everton currently have 25 points from 27 games and are hoping to avoid relegation this season.
