The Boston Celtics needed to get right with a win, and there is no better way to do that than shellacking another ball club on their own home floor of TD Garden on Friday night as they tied a home record for wins at 17 total for the season with a 126-97 beatdown of the Utah Jazz.
Boston held the Jazz to just 17.6% from the 3-point line and 36.2% from the floor overall, and won the block battle 6 rejections to 2. Leading by as much as 36 points, the Celtics never trailed in the wire-to-wire affair. Boston came out so strong that they jumped out to a 10-point lead before the 9-minute mark of the first quarter, and sat the starters for the entire final frame.
