Although the college golf season wrapped up last week, plenty of the best collegiate players in the world have reconvened in Ligonier, Pennsylvania.
The 2023 Arnold Palmer Cup, a three-day, Ryder Cup-style event, teed off Thursday at Laurel Valley Golf Club. The competition pits the best American collegiate golfers against an International team.
Thursday’s format is mixed Four-Ball, and there’s two sessions Friday, with the first being foursomes and the second being mixed foursomes. Saturday is singles, where a champion will be crowned at the conclusion.
Each team is comprised of 12 men and 12 women representing their countries. Oregon’s Derek Radley and Pepperdine’s Michael Beard will coach Team USA while Kentucky’s Golda Borst and Notre Dame’s John Handrigan will lead the International team.

The United States leads the all-time series, 13-12-1. The International Team won last year in Switzerland.
And after mixed Four-ball, the International Team leads 6.5-5.5 after the first day of competition. Team USA seemed primed to win the final match so there would be a tie heading to Friday, but Lauren Walsh and Max Kennedy won the final hole to halve the match and keep the Internationals in front.
