Phillip Schofield screams at 'useless' Holly Willoughby as viewers blast This Morning 'shambles'

This Morning descended into chaos as presenter Holly Willoughby totally messed up on Spin to Win, sparking co-host Phillip Schofield to scream 'what are you doing' at her. Holly fled to the sofa at one point, putting a cushion in front of her face.

On Spin to Win, the ITV show calls a person up and they have to straight away say the day's code phrase to get a chance of winning some cash. However in this case it didn't go according to plan.

Phil said after the first caller went through to answerphone: “Still got plenty of time don’t worry.” The phone rang and then the person picked up - but Holly was talking to Alice Beer and gave away the question saying: “Talk to Blobby he’s over there on his own.”

Phil then hissed at her as the call had been answered: “Shhhh, you’re giving away the question.” Then there was silence on the line - the person who calls is supposed to give the password. Phil said: “Oh you are useless.”

Then Holly shouted: “Hello.” The person then gave the password. Phil was fuming shouting at Holly: “No! What the hell are you playing?” Holly then ran off and hid behind the Spin to Win set on the sofa with her face covered by a pillow.

Phil was left shouting at Holly as she made a mess of Spin to Win (ITV)

Phil then screamed: “What game is this that you’ve invented in your head?” Holly demanded: “We have to let them play! Because I’ve messed that up so badly.” The person, Leslie from Gloucester did manage to hang on and play, winning £1,000 - also getting the 'bag of shizzle'.

Viewers were less than impressed. On Twitter Ryan Glendenning said: "It's all gone really wrong today #ThisMorning." Garry Enfield added: "Oh Holly made a mess of that."

Dayjur ironically remarked: "This will definitely win them a BAFTA." Charlotte enjoyed the chaos: "Love this game #ThisMorning the best part. Esp when it goes wrong." Ryan Glendenning asked: "Why is Spin to Win always a car crash?" Dave added: "This is a shambles."

ITV This Morning is on daily 10am - 1pm.
