Phillip Schofield breaks silence on new job rumours after saying career was over

Phillip Schofield's lawyer has denied rumours the disgraced presenter has a new TV job amid comeback speculation.

The former This Morning host, 61, sensationally stepped down from his role at ITV before admitting to an affair with a younger male colleague one week later. Phillip has previously stated his career is 'over' following the This Morning scandal and completing cutting ties with ITV after admitting to lying about the affair.

However, Phil's lawyer has been forced to shut down rumours he has a new job following the scandal after a PR expert weighed in on the situation. "TalkTV could be the career rebuilding platform that Schofield needs right now," the expert claimed.

"If the current media spotlight reveals no new allegations then this is entirely recoverable for him and TalkTV could be the perfect place for him to start again in a high-profile media environment," expert Andy Barr told the Daily Star.

Andy said Phillip should take time out from the spotlight to protect his mental health. "I think the public will expect him to have a career break before announcing his comeback," he added.

However, when approached by The Mirror Phil's lawyer was asked if he is expected to return to TV so soon, and responded: "Absolutely not as far as I know."

Piers Morgan, who is TalkTV's most prominent presenter, has publicly supported Phillip amid the intense backlash after his own sensational exit from ITV in 2021.

"Phillip Schofield is a broken guy, he’s not going to work on television again almost certainly. He’s lost everything in his life," Piers said.

"I don’t know what more the baying mob on Twitter wants from Phillip Schofield that he hasn’t already lost?”

Piers noted that Phil's fall from grace was "brutal to watch" before hitting out at the, "ruthless backstabbing in the world of daytime television."

"One minute Schofield was the undisputed king of morning TV and fast heading to bona fide national treasure status – the next he's a dethroned, shamed, vilified, national disgrace and social media laughing stock," Piers wrote.
