- 16-time world champion Phil Taylor is coming out of retirement to return to competitive darts at the MODUS Super Series International Pairs Tournament in Portsmouth from 23 to 28 November.
- The 66-year-old darts legend will team up alongside close friend and two-time world champion Adrian Lewis, with whom he previously won four World Cup of Darts titles before stepping away from professional play in 2018.
- Taylor expressed his excitement about returning to the board alongside Lewis, with the pair having been involved in some epic battles during their careers, noting that their shared history and deep understanding of each other's games made the event the ideal occasion for his comeback.
- The announcement coincides with a night of major upsets at the World Grand Prix in Leicester, where defending champion Luke Littler was knocked out in the opening round by Luke Woodhouse on Monday.
- Seven-time World Grand Prix champion Michael van Gerwen also crashed out after losing to Ryan Joyce, whilst former champion Gerwyn Price and fellow Welshman Jonny Clayton successfully advanced to the second round.
