There were some unsavoury scenes after Manchester City's win against Arsenal on Wednesday involving Ben White and Phil Foden.
Pep Guardiola's side triumphed 4-1 at the Etihad to move within two points of Premier League leaders Arsenal with two games in hand. City are now expected to continue their 11-game domestic winning run by successfully defending their title.
As the two sets of players shook hands at full-time, White grabbed Foden by the scruff of the neck before the City star pushed him away. It's unclear what triggered the row, but Foden's previous comments about White suggests he has full respect for his compatriot.
White and Foden were team-mates when England reached the final of Euro 2020 during the summer of 2021. At the time, White was a reserve in the 26-man squad after replacing the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold, while Foden was one of the star players.
During the tournament, Foden was asked by ITV which England star had surprised him the most in training. He replied: "You know I really haven’t seen a lot of Ben and he came in and has been brilliant in training, so I’d say Ben White."
White went on to join Arsenal from Brighton in a £50million deal after the tournament. Bukayo Saka agreed with Foden. He added: "I haven't seen him [White] a lot this season but coming here and training with him, I've been impressed with him."

The row between White and Foden on Wednesday unfolded after the Arsenal defender shook hands with City pair Rodri and Julian Alvarez. White also went to shake Foden's hand, but the City forward - perhaps unaware of White - walked away.
White then stopped Foden. It was at that moment when things got heated, with White grabbing his England colleague. Foden wriggled out of White's grasp and pushed him away before several players from each team got involved in the bust-up.
The tense encounter was understandable, as City had just won the biggest game of the season so far. Arsenal now need City to drop at least four points if they are going to win their first Premier League title in 19 years and finish the season with silverware.
White is a master of the dark arts. He's willing to wind up opponents - famously reminding Tottenham fans of the score during Arsenal's 2-0 win earlier this season - and isn't afraid of people's opinions. That was evident when he revealed he doesn't watch much football during his spare time.
White has previously explained: "I watch myself for analytical reasons. I just wouldn't just sit down and watch a game. After I’ve trained all day and had four or five meetings about football, the last thing I want to do is watch more."
White's uncompromising attitude has made him a cult hero at the Emirates and a key member of Mikel Arteta's squad, even if Arsenal don't win the title this season.
