PFF grades: Colts 3 highest-graded defenders in win vs. Miami

After reviewing Sunday’s win over the Miami Dolphins, Pro Football Focus has handed out grades for each of the Indianapolis Colts’ individual performances.

So which defenders received the highest marks from this Week 7 matchup?

Before we dive into who those players are, as is always worth noting, PFF’s grading system is not the be-all-end-all when it comes to individual performances. It is one metric and should be treated as such. With that said, generally speaking, when a player performs well, PFF’s grades reflect that.

Below is a look at PFF’s grading system to provide some context behind the numbers:

90.0+: Elite
80-89.9: High quality
70-79.9: Good
60-69.9: Above average
50-59.9: Average
40-49.9: Below average
39.9 or less: Poor

LB Segun Olubi

PFF grade: 86.4

Olubi played 21snaps, entering the game once Jaylon Carlies exited with an ankle injury. Olubi had a huge forced fumble and recovery that eventually led to a Colts touchdown. He also made three tackles and graded out very well against the run. The one blemish, according to PFF’s tracking, was that Olubi surrendered a 25 yard reception.

CB Jaylon Jones

PFF grade: 85.0

Jones was in on five solo tackles during this game and didn’t have any misses, according to PFF. In coverage, he allowed two receptions on three targets for a grand total of six yards. He also had a pass breakup and the Miami quarterbacks had a passer rating of 70.8 when targeting him.

CB Kenny Moore

PFF grade: 83.4

Moore did a little bit of everything for the Colts. He generated a pressure as a blitzer, and was in on five total tackles, including two run stops. In coverage, Moore allowed just one completion on four targets for two yards and had a pass breakup. Overall, the Colts secondary held Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to just 19 combined yards.

Honorable Mentions

DE Adam Gotsis: 75.8
S Julian Blackmon: 72.2
DT Taven Bryan: 67.6
