After starring in Bush’s Beans’ regional Super Bowl commercial in February, former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning has returned with another commercial alongside the company’s mascot, a golden retriever named Duke.
In the 15-second ad titled “Plate Plays,” Manning reveals three ways to distribute beans on a barbecue plate: “the force field” (with no food items touching other foods), “the moat” (with beans touching everything, even hamburger buns) and the “saucy sheriff” (which is just a gigantic pile of beans on a plate).
Manning opts for the gigantic pile of beans.
“I love me a saucy sheriff,” Manning tells Duke, a statement that is a clear nod to the former quarterback’s on-field nickname, “The Sheriff.”
“I’m excited to be the newest bean ambassador for Bush’s Beans and to represent this family-owned business,” Manning said in a press release after joining Bush’s Beans last December.
“I really respect the group of individuals behind this great company. There are many reasons Bush’s is known as the Beautiful Bean Co., and I’m excited to help the team continue to highlight them.”
This marks the third video Manning has made for Bush’s Beans after he previously filmed a teaser for the company’s Super Bowl ad, and, of course, the Super Bowl commercial itself. We’re sure there’s more to come from Manning and Bush’s Beans.
