A petition to prevent the demolition of an old dance hall in Co Tyrone from demolition has chalked up hundreds of signatures – but a local school principal says the community is behind a plan to build a new school on the grounds.
St Malachy’s Parochial Hall in Edendork was a popular dance hall during the showband era, but has fallen into disrepair in recent years.
Now the building is subject to a planning application which would lead to its demolition, with the construction of a new school building for the nearby Edendork Primary School.
