Perthshire curler Eve Muirhead placed third at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year on Wednesday night.
Muirhead, who grew up in Blair Atholl, stunningly guided her team to Winter Olympic gold in Beijing in February.
She teamed-up with Vicky Wright, Jen Dodds, Hailey Duff and Mili Smith - the latter from Guildtown - to make a dream come true with a 10-3 final win against Japan.
But it was a full season of remarkable success and, in August, the Perth-born inspiration announced her retirement from the sport she has become the greatest of role models for.
Muirhead was nominated for the Sports Personality of the Year alongside Jessica Gadirova, Beth Mead, Ben Stokes, Ronnie O’Sullivan and Jake Wightman. England football star Mead took home the top award.
