A person has been hospitalised following a horrific car crash in Dublin.
The serious crash happened earlier this evening at the Whitestown Way junction of the N81 in Tallaght. Gardai and Dublin Fire Brigade were alerted to the scene of the incident.
One person was rushed to hospital for treatment of their injuries. The road has been closed for hours leading to heavy traffic in the area.

Motorists have been asked to avoid Templeogue, Tallaght, Greenhill, and Firhouse because of the massive queues due to the knock-on effects of the road closure in the area. A garda spokesman said: "Gardai are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the N81 in Tallaght, Dublin 24.
"One person has been taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries. The road remains closed at this time."
A DFB spokesperson said: "Earlier we were called to a serious road traffic collision on the #N81 near Tallaght Stadium. Traffic restrictions are in place
"Delays with knock-on effects are across a wide area."
