Person hit by train between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway

East Midlands Railway (EMR) has confirmed a person has been hit by a train in Nottinghamshire. The incident took place between Nottingham and Long Eaton/ East Midlands Parkway on Thursday (February 23) evening.

Trains on the routes from Nottingham to London St Pancras, Leicester, Derby, Crewe and Lincoln have been disrupted. Trains cannot currently run between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway/ Long Eaton.

Passengers should continue journeys as normal, but delays could be in place for up to an hour. Emergency services are on their way to the incident.

A tweet posted by EMR read: "We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train. This has occurred between East Midlands Parkway / Long Eaton and Nottingham.

"Trains in to and out of Nottingham will be disrupted for the remainder of the evening. More info to follow."
