Perrie Edwards reveals Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain wedding plans

Perrie Edwards has revealed her wedding day is approaching

Perrie Edwards is finally marrying Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, four years after getting engaged.

The Little Mix star, 32, accepted a proposal from the footballer in 2022 after five years of dating and she's now revealed her big day is finally approaching - with Perrie explaining she's in the final stages of planning and she recently tried on her wedding dress for the first time.

She told 1883 Magazine: "There’s so much in both my personal and professional life [coming up] – my wedding! I tried on the dress the other day and I’m so happy with it."

She added: "It’s so exciting, I can’t wait."

When asked how she's balancing her career with her busy personal life and two children, she said: "I love being busy and being on stage and being that pop star girly.

"But then I also love just being at home, being with my kids and being a mum. Going for little dog walks, and just going on adventures and all that kind of thing.

"I kind of love the balance of work life, personal life, so it’s just me. I feel very fulfilled in my life right now, and I’m very happy with the balance. But yeah, a lot is going on, babies, dogs, planning my wedding. "

Perrie is mother to son Axel, four, and daughter Alanis, four months, with Alex and she told the publication she deliberately named her daughter - who was born earlier this year - after singer Alanis Morissette.

She said: "Alanis Morissette is a huge inspiration of mine. I love the way she writes. I love the aggression and the passion that she kind of brings to her music and her stories, like you’re so invested in the stories. "

The birth of her second child came after Perrie revealed last year that she had suffered two miscarriages.

The If He Wanted to He Would singer told Paul C Brunson's We Need to Talk podcast: "I was rehearsing for the last Little Mix tour, and I thought, 'I don't feel good'. Every symptom under the sun. I was like, 'I think I'm pregnant.'"

Perrie recalled how a doctor informed her and Alex of the devastating news when she went for a scan five months into the pregnancy.

She said: "We went for what was a 20-week scan, but we were actually 22 weeks, and that was just the worst day of my life. Like, horrendous.

"I just knew something was wrong in the scan. I've never experienced an out-of-body experience where everything goes in slow motion."

The star continued: "So then I remember sobbing, Alex was injured at the time and couldn't really drive.

"He was struggling to drive, but I couldn't see straight. I was just distraught. We basically lost the baby at, like, 24 weeks."
