A MAN will face a dozen break-in and stealing charges in court today after his dramatic arrest at Raymond Terrace.
Port Stephens Hunter police homed in on the man during extensive investigations into several incidents they believed to be linked between May and October.
Police went to a home on Rosetta Way at Raymond Terrace at about 10.30am on Wednesday, October 23, and saw a man allegedly flee over a back fence.
Officers gave chase on foot and a 43-year-old man was arrested a short time later on the Pacific Highway.
Police were forced to deploy OC spray, or pepper spray, in order to capture the man and will allege in court that he resisted his arrest.
He was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station, where he was charged with 17 alleged offences.
The man spent the night behind bars after being refused bail by police, and was ordered to face Raymond Terrace Local Court on Thursday, October 24.
He faces four counts of breaking and entering a house and stealing; four counts of fraud; four counts of larceny; two counts of aggravated break-and-enter; break and enter dwelling with intent; having goods in custody suspected of being stolen; and resisting arrest.
