Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have both passed comment on Chelsea's transfer spending after breaking records last month. The Blues signed eight new players and also made Enzo Fernandez the most expensive player in the league's history, taking their total spending under Todd Boehly over £550million.
The way that the business has been conducted has attracted plenty of attention and criticism, especially considering the lack of spending power across the rest of Europe. Such was the total outlay, Chelsa's window was more than the other four of Europe's top five leagues combined.
Given that January is often a month said to be tough for buying new players these actions from Chelsea smashed those myths. It has been impossible to ignore and has led to some of their rivals being questioned on what it means for the future.

Jurgen Klopp started jokingly, cautiously asking: "What did the other managers say? I'll say nothing without my lawyer." He then went on: "I don't understand this part of the business, like what can you do what can you not do, it's a big number.
"The last two windows and the players they brought in, I didn't think once 'why did they do that'. They are all really good players so from that point of view congratulations when you can do it. I don't understand how it's possible with all the things around, but it's not for me to explain how it works and hopefully you all know how it works."
The German was then asked how it would be dealt with in terms of financial regulation, to which he responded: "Graham [Potter] knows that and that's something else. I'm not sure Todd Boehly is too interested in that. It will happen at one point as well, they will play well together it's impossible to avoid with the quality they have, how quickly? I don't know."
As for the team commonly beating Liverpool to the top spot in recent years, Pep Guardiola was not buying the fact that Chelsea are being treated differently to his Manchester City side. "I know. I know what would happen [if we spent like Chelsea]. It's been happening for the past five or six years. Right now we're one of the five or six Premier League teams to spend net and we won 11 trophies, four leagues in five years that is what really counts for us.
"What Chelsea has done, what the other clubs have done is not my business. I know exactly what we are working on to try and do our best like Chelsea believes and Arsenal and Liverpool and Manchester United believes that without the good players you cannot compete, not just here but in the Premier League and in Europe.
"You have to spend. The market is wow! It's a lot. What Chelsea have decided to do is not my business. I never involve my opinions on other clubs because there are regulations and rules that they have to do it. We were accused. Eight or nine teams in the league send a letter because they want us to be banned and out of the league. That happened to us, we are just the fifth team to spend net in the last five years when we begin to win titles. That is the reality."
When quizzed on there being one rule for City and one for everyone else he added: "Where we come from for sure, definitely. It doesn't bother me it's not the first time in six or seven years."
Chelsea's critics may come partly due to their recent turnaround having been put up for sale and sanctioned last season, making their financial position uncertain.
