People to pay if Jaipur Municipal Corporation takes charge of trash collection

JAIPUR: Residents of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) Greater will have to pay garbage collection charges if the corporation invites re-tendering after terminating the contract of the company.

As per the rates fixed, the JMC will charge between Rs 20 to Rs 5,000 from the residents. The proposal reads, “The civic body will charge between Rs 20-150 from plots having a size of 50 square metre to 300 square metre. From coffee houses, sweet stalls, shops, the JMC has proposed to charge Rs 250. Hostels operational in the city will have to pay Rs 500.”

Similarly, Rs 750 have been fixed for the guest houses, hostels, restaurants. Hotel up to the category of three stars will have to pay Rs 1,500 and above 3 stars, Rs 3,000 will be charged.

The municipal corporation has fixed Rs 2,000 for hospitals having less than 50 beds and Rs 4,000 for hospitals having more than 50 beds. Wedding venue and event hall having less than three thousand square metre will be charged Rs 2,000. Provision of Rs 5,000 has been kept for wedding venue having more than 3,000 square metre. An official said, “The project can only be implemented after the approval from the government.”
