People are only just realising what the plastic inside a Terry's Chocolate Orange is for

People are just realising a 'genius' hack that can be done with a Terry's Chocolate Orange.

The sweet treat is a Christmas staple and is often given as a stocking filler. It's therefore likely that you have one in your own house.

But before you eat it, it's worth trying your hand at the hidden function inside the box. Taking to TikTok, one user Neil Adams, showed how he discovered the unknown feature.

Posting the clip to the popular video-streaming service, Neil left people gobsmacked with his video, which has raked in over 338,000 views since posting, reports the Mirror.

Neil recorded himself opening the iconic packaging and pulling out a bit of plastic, which most chocoholics would throw in the bin.

However, it can actually be used as a nifty display that makes eating the delicious snack a dream. Taking out the piece of plastic, the TikToker folded either sides of the plastic to create a stand.

Demonstrating the chocolate orange hack, Neil admitted: "I was today years old when I discovered this hack."

The handy tip acts as a perfect stand for your chocolate, which tackles the gruelling task of scrambling inside the box for a tasty slice of chocolate.

In the comments, TikTok users shared their shock after only just discovering the clever function - with one person admitting they've been unaware of the hack for 50 years.

One person said: "Could've done with this before Christmas! it's gonna be 12 months before I eat another chocolate orange and what're the chances of me remembering?"

A second added: "Omg!! I've just realised, nobody got me a chocolate orange for Christmas. I'm hurt."

Meanwhile, a different user praised the idea: "Genius!" A fourth said: "50 years on the planet and still learning." A fifth added: "Nice one never knew that."

A sixth said: "I never knew that."
