People are only just realising they are wearing their bras completely wrong

An expert has shared that the majority of people are wearing the wrong bra size.

Boasting a whopping 320,000 followers on TikTok, a stylist has said that 80 per cent of us have been wearing the wrong bra size for their whole life. In a video, Kenzie has shared the bra fitting tips that "changed her life".

As reported by the Mirror, the stylist explains: "80 per cent of you wearing this video are wearing the wrong bra size and I'm going to tell you why.

"My first job out of college was at a luxury lingerie company where we were trained on how to properly fit women into bras - and I'm going to teach you everything I've learned in that training.

"Number one - the fit of a bra band is the most important. The fit of the band should fit parallel around the small of your back and you shouldn't be able to pull it out more than two inches."

She continued: "Number two - cup size. The fit of your cup is influenced by your band size. As your band size changes, so does your cup size. So, for every band size that you go down, you should be going up in a cup size.

"If your breasts are spilling out of your bra or coming out of the sides or your underwire isn't comfortable then your cups are probably too small.

"If your bra is sagging, puckering, or even has gaps, then your cup size is too big. This may come as a surprise, but your straps are not there for support, it's your cups and your band that is providing the support in your bra.

"Number three - your cup shape really matters. There are over 25 different bra styles and most popular stores only carry five, which means you might be wearing a t-shirt bra right now, but actually your breast size, your breast position and breast shape are better fitted for a balconette or a plunge bra.

"By wearing the proper bra shape, you'll look more lifted, more smooth, but most importantly, you'll feel more comfortable and more supported," she added.

When bra shopping, it's important to note that your new bra is going to stretch out. Even if it is a bit snug, you want to make sure that when you're trying it on, it should be on the loosest hook.

Many TikTokers praised over the helpful tips in the comment section. One person replied: "This is super helpful! Great video, thank you!"

Another echoed: "Great advice! So true."

A third added: "I have spillage at the centre of the cup and space at the top."

To which Kenzie replied: "That may be an indication you need a different style!"
