Pensioner in his 70s falls to his death from multi-storey car park

A man in his 70s suffered a serious head injury and died after allegedly falling from a multi-storey car park in Worcester.

The pensioner was pronounced dead at the scene at roughly 7.10am today.

It is believed that the man fell from Crowngate car park, which forms part of Crowngate Shopping Centre in the town centre, Birmingham Mail reported.

Police shared the news just before 11am as they asked locals to avoid the area.

Officers warned travel would be disrupted as they dealt with the incident near Angel Place. Roads nearby were closed following the tragedy and emergency services remained at the scene.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Police were called to Angel Place, Worcester at about 7.10 this morning (Saturday, June 11) where a man had suffered a serious head injury.

"Sadly the man, who was in his seventies, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed that he had fallen from the Crowngate car park."
