Former House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has publicly expressed her support for President Biden amidst growing calls for him to withdraw from the 2024 presidential election. However, reports suggest that in private, Pelosi is advising lawmakers to continue pressuring Biden to reconsider his decision to run for re-election.
According to sources, Pelosi is cautioning members of the House Democratic conference against immediately backing Biden without first engaging in a broader discussion on whether he is the most viable candidate to defeat former President Trump. While Pelosi has not explicitly called for Biden to step aside, she is allegedly advising vulnerable lawmakers in swing districts to consider doing so if they believe it could enhance their chances of winning re-election.
