A pedestrian has been airlifted to hospital following a 'serious' crash on the A71.
The incident took place on the major East Ayrshire route shortly after 8.30am on Tuesday, June 7 and involved a red Toyota Hilux pickup which was towing a trailer, a Honda Civic car and a male pedestrian.
Emergency crews including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service raced to the scene.
The 48-year-old male pedestrian was taken by Air Ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, while the 69-year-old male occupant of the Honda was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital.
Their conditions are not yet known.
The driver of the Toyota pickup was not injured.
The A71 was closed as a result of the collision, but has since reopened.
Officers now want to hear from anyone who witnessed or has any information on the collision.
They are particularly keen to speak with a tractor driver who was driving past the location, in the direction of Hurlford, around the same time the crash took place.
Sergeant Chris Hoggans, from the Irvine Road Policing Unit, added: “If you believe you can assist our investigation, or you were in the area and have yet to speak with police, please call 101, quoting incident 0624 of 7 June, 2022.”
