Patriots WR DeVante Parker wasn’t as eager to speak on DeAndre Hopkins

New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker faced the media and was asked about his thoughts on the Patriots potentially acquiring DeAndre Hopkins.

His response was nowhere near as enthusiastic as other Patriots players, when asked the exact same question.

Parker was productive in his first season with New England. He recorded 31 catches for 539 yards and three touchdowns. He did miss some time over the course of the season due to injury. Nevertheless, he had moments where he was quarterback Mac Jones’ favorite target.

However, that could all change if the Patriots acquire Hopkins. Both Parker and fellow wide receiver Kendrick Bourne have been floated around as candidates to be cut in the event of a Hopkins acquisition. Parker was asked about it Tuesday by assembled media.

“I’m focused on us. Great player, but I’m just focused on us,” said Parker.

It will be interesting to see how the Hopkins sweepstakes plays out. That being said, some difficult moves may have to be made as a result.
