Former New England Patriots Super Bowl champion Jermaine Wiggins remains upbeat and positive after the Patriots’ 23-20 loss at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
If the team can improve its passing attack, Wiggins believes the Patriots will have a shot at being a playoff team this season.
The Patriots have managed to find some success in the running game, as they have tallied 355 yards on the ground over the first two games. The passing game has been a different story with the team totaling 270 yards so far this season.
Tight end Hunter Henry is the team’s leading pass-catcher with 127 yards in total. Wiggins elaborated on “The Greg Hill Show” why he believes the Patriots could make some noise this season,
“I look at this, and there’s a realistic chance that if the Patriots can somehow put it together with their passing offense, they could be a legitimate team that could—dare I say—makes the playoffs,” Wiggins said. “If they can put their passing game together, because you got defense, you can run the football. Your coach looks like he knows what he’s doing.”
Patriots a playoff team?

Can the Patriots become a better passing team with Jacoby Brissett under center?
That’s the biggest question facing the team after watching some of the same issues pop up against the Seahawks.
Running the football is great, but they have to find a way to push the ball downfield to compete against tougher opponents, like the one they’ll face in Thursday’s game against the New York Jets.
