The Patriots (1-3) entered their Week 5 matchup against Saints (2-2) seeking their second win of the season after a disappointing 38-3 road loss to the Cowboys the previous week.
However, after one half of play in Sunday’s game against New Orleans, New England found itself in a familiar place once again as the Patriots struggled to build momentum offensively and trailed the Saints, 21-0, at halftime.
As New England walked off the field to the locker room, fans inside Gillette Stadium screamed boos at the players. In the Patriots’ last six quarters, New England has been outscored 59-3 and has allowed 56 unanswered points in two games.
The franchise has also gone eight consecutive quarters without a touchdown and has be outscored in seven straight quarters, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer.
