Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has warned his players that they cannot rely on Chelsea being tired from their match midweek if they are to progress to the FA Cup final. It comes after the Blues went to extra-time against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals but lost 5-4 on aggregate.
Thomas Tuchel claimed his side needed a perfect script following their 3-1 defeat in the first leg and he nearly got that. Goals from Mason Mount, Antonio Rudiger and Timo Werner put the side ahead going into the final ten minutes.
However, a late strike from Rodrygo brought the whole score level and took it to another thirty minutes. As was the case with the first meeting, it was Karim Benzema who made the difference, scoring yet again to knock the defending champions out.
