It’s always heartbreaking every single time there’s a mass shooting somewhere. That’s never news anyone wants to hear.
But when children are involved? Man. Come on. What are we doing here? That’s just awful.
So when we found out there were children among the wounded in the aftermath of the Kansas City shooting at the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade, it obviously ripped our collective hearts to shreds.

In all this darkness, though, there is a small sliver of light courtesy of Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany.
The two of them visited two of the shooting victims from the parade in the hospital, according to local Fox reporter Malik Jackson. The two victims were only eight and 10 years old.

This is so nice to see yet so heartbreaking at the same time.
It’s nice to see Patrick and Brittany Mahomes spending a bit of time with these two. At the same time, it’s just such a shame that these children are growing up in a world where something like this can happen to them. They shouldn’t have gone through anything like this. No one should.

Shoutout to the Mahomes family. This is the sort of kindness we love to see.
