No team has made headlines quite like the Kansas City Chiefs this year, but how does one of their quarterbacks round off the year? With a classic white and metallic Christmas color scheme that will impress every December. How can we be sure? Patrick first shared his decorations back in 2021, and three years later, they look just as fashionable.
Patrick and Brittany Mahomes layered their Christmas tree with silver, gold, and pearlescent ornaments – creating a textured, classic setting that gives a luxurious twist to the classic Scandinavian Christmas aesthetic.
While decorating for the holidays can bring challenges in uber-minimalist homes, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes's tree is an example of how it's possible to have fun without sacrificing style. Eric Bramlett, a real estate agent and owner of Bramlett Real Estate, agrees.
'Minimalist Christmas decor has a completely different vibe but is just as timeless for those who prefer clean, modern spaces. Last year, I helped stage a property where the owners didn’t want clutter. We stuck to white and metallic tones, with a single tree adorned with simple, coordinated ornaments. It was striking in its simplicity and showed that even minimal effort can make a space feel festive,' he says. 'It’s perfect for anyone who loves modern design but still wants to nod to the season.'

Timeless designs
Classic, sophisticated and enduringly popular, metallic ornaments are everlasting so I always suggest to invest in the best ones you can afford. They are great fillers and will work with just about any other trend.

If you are going to decorate with glitter at home, then Christmas is the best time to do so. It is fun and playful and will capture the imagination of all who celebrate Christmas in your home.
Classic design
Bells are a Christmas classic. Here at H&G, our editors have decorated with them since they were young children, and still, they bring joy when we take them from the decorations box.
Alongside the metallic elements, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes exhibit more traditonal Scandinavian-inspired Christmas decor – most notably hanging pine cones against the natural green backdrop.
'Scandinavian holiday decor is for people who prefer subtle, calming environments. Natural wood tones, soft lighting, and simple ornaments define this style,' Bramlett explains.
'A client once asked me to help them create a hygge-inspired holiday look. We kept it understated – candlelit windows, woven blankets on the sofas, and a small tree with just a handful of carefully chosen decorations. It wasn’t loud or bold, but it was cozy in a way that made the home feel like a retreat.'
As mentioned, the ornaments seen on the Mahomes family tree have the rare ability to transcend design trends (considering it still looks as good this year as it did in 2021). But what makes this look so eternal? 'It's their ability to connect with personal values,' Bramlett says.
'Whether it’s honoring tradition, embracing simplicity, or creating fun for your family, they all tap into something real. The best Christmas decor isn’t about impressing anyone; it’s about creating a space where you feel at home. That’s what I focus on with every project – helping people find what speaks to them and bringing it to life in a way that feels genuine.'
While we can't know for sure how the Kansas City Chiefs year will go, one thing is almost guaranteed: silver will look good time and time again.
