Patients, caregivers, and community advocates who want a seat at the table when the Food and Drug Administration weighs new medicines and medical devices now have a time-limited opening. The FDA announced on Sept. 30 that it is recruiting consumer representatives for its advisory committees, with applications due by Nov. 15, 2026.
The vacancies span panels that review cancer drugs, vaccines, pediatric treatments, psychiatric medications, nonprescription drugs, and medical devices. These committees weigh the evidence behind products that may end up in household medicine cabinets.
