NEW DELHI: An unnamed flyer, speculated to be an MP, "accidentally" opened the right emergency exit of an IndiGo ATR-72 turboprop minutes before take-off from Chennai last month, leading to a two-hour delay as all passengers were required to disembark for the plane to undergo mandatory safety procedures, reports Saurabh Sinha.
Aviation regulator DGCA is probing the episode on the December 10 Chennai-Tiruchirapalli flight. Till late Tuesday, neither IndiGo nor flyer concerned Tejasvi had responded to queries on whether the latter was involved in the incident.
