Part of last WC, Jiwan hopes for sister Dipi to take India to podium this time

KOLKATA: Jiwan Kishori Toppo couldn't have been more proud of her younger sister Dipi Monika who, along with four other girls from Odisha, will represent India at Hockey Women's Junior World Cup that will begin in Santiago, Chile, on Wednesday. Having played in the last edition in South Africa's Potchefstroom in 2022, where India finished fourth, Jiwan is well aware of what it takes to play the World Cup and she can't wait to see her sister have the same honour of playing for the country.

"It's a very special moment for her and our entire family. It was her dream to play in the World Cup and she trained hard to get this opportunity and I just hope she will help the team finish on the podium this time around," said Jiwan, who is currently in New Delhi taking part in the Nehru Cup for Odisha.
