Paris Olympics: Archer Pravin Jhadav bows out to mark the end of India's men's individual challenge

India's Pravin Jhadhav exited the Paris Olympics archery competition after suffering a straight-set defeat in his opening-round match of the individual men's recurve event on Thursday.

Jadhav's opponent, Kao Wenchao of China, emerged victorious with a score of 6-0, winning the three sets 29-28, 30-29, 28-27.

Despite Jhadhav's four 10s in the match, the Chinese archer managed to edge out the Indian by a single point in each of the three sets.

This loss marked the end of India's campaign in the men's individual event, as Tarundeep Rai and Dhiraj Boomadevara had already been eliminated in their respective knockout matches earlier.

However, India's hopes in the women's individual event remain alive, with the experienced Deepika Kumari and the young Bhajan Kaur, aged 18, set to compete in the pre-quarterfinals on Saturday.

Unfortunately, both the Indian men's and women's teams had previously been knocked out of the tournament in the quarterfinal stage.
