The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics is set to take place in the heart of Paris along the Seine River, with heightened security measures in place. More than 100 heads of state and government officials, along with thousands of spectators, are expected to attend the event.
To ensure the safety of all attendees, approximately 45,000 police officers and 18,000 military personnel will be deployed throughout the city. Metro stations in the vicinity will be closed, as well as several bridges. Additionally, a no-fly zone will be enforced over Paris during the ceremony, except for authorized aircraft.
Paris 2024 CEO Étienne Thobois emphasized the importance of security for the success of the celebration. He acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the security measures but highlighted the necessity of ensuring a safe and enjoyable event for all participants.
