The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has released a policy statement on how pediatricians should develop and use generative artificial intelligence in clinical care, calling for human oversight and stronger protections for children's data. The AAP announcement came Oct. 3 during its National Conference in San Diego, the same day the statement was published online ahead of the November issue of Pediatrics.
"There will be a need for rigorous human oversight and accountability," said lead author Dr. Srinivasan Suresh.
