With the Panthers continuing to struggle, numerous NFL insiders have thrown Johnson into trade speculation over the past few weeks. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler noted earlier this month that teams are on “high alert” for the former Pro Bowl pass catcher.
As for the situation with his current team, Johnson missed his second straight practice on Thursday due to a rib injury. He did, however, also tell reporters that he believes he’ll be able to play in Sunday’s matchup against the Denver Broncos.
