The connection between Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young and wideout Xavier Legette should be a fun one . . . as long as the former is able to “lock in.”
Young spoke with NFL Network national reporter Cameron Wolfe following the team’s Back Together Saturday session of training camp yesterday morning. And Wolfe couldn’t let Carolina’s 2023 first-round pick get away without getting his thoughts on Carolina’s 2024 first-round pick and his popular country accent.
“I was at ‘Bama for a couple years, so you get a couple guys,” Young said with a smile. “But you just gotta lock in. Can’t look away, can’t do something else. You gotta lock in when he’s talking, and then you’ll hear. But if you’re not paying attention . . . it still catches me off. But yeah, it’s funny. We have some fun in the locker room.”
"You gotta lock in when he's talking." @_bryce_young tells @CameronWolfe that he's still getting used to @XavierLegette's accent. 😂

Legette has endeared himself to many a fan with his unique accent. The Mullins, S.C. native, in fact, was well aware of the attention his drawl received as he entered the NFL.
“Oh yeah, they’ve been draggin’ it all over social media. They’ve been dragging it all over social media,” Legette told reporters during his introductory press conference in April. “I love social media, man. I just tell folks—they really ain’t just never heard nobody talk from Mullins.”
Well, Mullins may not be Tuscaloosa, but Young still seems to have a beat on his new target.
