Carolina Panthers great Greg Olsen may be adding some hardware to the mantel.
As announced on Tuesday afternoon, the tight end turned broadcaster has been named one of five nominees in the “Emerging On-Air Talent” category for the 44th Annual Sports Emmy Awards. He is joined by four fellow athletes including Andraya Carter, Eli Manning, Robert Griffin III and JJ Redick—all of ESPN.

Olsen has garnered a considerable amount of acclaim as a color commentator for FOX’s NFL programming, a job he began in a full-time capacity two seasons ago. He and play-by-play voice/partner Kevin Burkhardt were promoted to the network’s lead broadcast team for the 2022 campaign—an opportunity both men have excelled in.
Hopefully for the franchise legend, he does not get beat out for another award by Manning—who was nominated alongside Olsen and former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver for the 2016 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Manning and Fitzgerald were named co-winners for the honor.
We’ll find out on Monday, May 22.
