Panther M*lk has secured its first retail listing and will be stocked in 40 of Asda's stores across Scotland.
Founder Paul Crawford was inspired by the Spanish cocktail Leche De Pantera, which he discovered in a bar in Barcelona, leading him to create the dairy-free, vanilla-flavoured concoction.
He first launched Panther M*lk as a secret pop-up bar in Glasgow in 2015 and due to popularity, the brand was established in 2020.
Since then, the drink has appeared on Dragons’ Den last year, winning the support of Deborah Meaden.
Crawford explained: “We are delighted to have worked with Asda to secure our first retail listing – it is a huge step for us.
“Being able to extend our sales onto supermarket shelves is testament to the commitment of our small team of three staff, who are devoted to our brand.”
Meaden commented: “With consumers becoming more environmentally aware, Panther M*lk has a strong proposition not only being the world’s first oat drink-based alcohol brand, but also tasting creamily delicious.
“Panther M*lk offers a treat for cocktails lovers who like White Russians or cream liqueur-based drinks, but who prefer a plant-based drink without compromise.”
Ashley Connolly, local buying manager for Scotland, added: “We are thrilled to work with such an innovative and forward-thinking local brand and we’re really excited to welcome Panther M*lk to Asda with its first retail listing.
“Panther M*lk Vanilla flavoured ready to drink cocktail adds a really unique option to our beers, wines and spirits range that we have not had before – and we know our customers will be eager to try it!”
