A couple have been spotted heroically helping a swan cross a busy road in Paisley.
Drivers were surprised when a man began waving his walking stick at the cars to stop as a woman guided the large bird across the roundabout near Linwood Road on Wedneday, February 8.
One witness described the moment she saw the pair take action and safely escort the swan across.

She told Glasgow Live: "It happened at the roundabout between Station Road and Linwood Road at Ferguslie just around lunchtime.
"The Swan was in the inside lane on the road of the roundabout as we were driving. My husband had to stop at the give way and we realised that everyone had stopped even the traffic coming from Paisley towards Linwood.
"Then spotted the older man and the bird, as he had a walking stick and was using it to wave to the oncoming cars to get their attention to stop, and the lady was gently trying to steer the bird across to the pavement and safety from the traffic.
"The Swan was almost as tall as the woman. There is a park behind the flats in the photo where Millarston High Flats used to be so it's likely wandered out from there.
"The birds sometimes roost in the park as it has a small pond. I was so impressed by the couples' bravery, not just by getting close to the swan but also for slowing the traffic in the middle of the road. Truly good local Samaritans."
