A Renfrewshire hospital has been likened to a 'war zone' and 'Third World country' after a patient with a leaking heart waited '16 hours to see a doctor'.
Denise Haggerty started suffering from palpitations, breathlessness and vomiting on July 11. The 56-year-old went to her GP at Dumbarton Health Centre and an ambulance was called at 12.30pm.
Her husband Edward claims it was 12 hours before she got into Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital which had queues of people on trolleys and wheelchairs in corridors desperate to be seen. It was allegedly 16 hours after the GP in Dumbarton made the first call that Denise saw a doctor.
