Paddy Pimblett has reportedly been given his next opponent for UFC London in March after talks for a fight against Jared Gordon broke down.
The UFC returns London in March and Pimblett is set to star, with UFC president Dana White initially stating that he'd face Gordon after the two had gone back and forth in a war of words.
“Jared Gordon’s probably gonna be his [opponent]," he told Barstool Sports, appearing to confirm the bout will take place.
However, those claims were refuted from the managers from both camps. Replying to a video on Twitter, Pimblett's manager Graham Boylan said: “We haven’t agreed on this and still discussing opponents.”
Now, it has been reported by BJ Penn that Pimblett will face Mexican Kazula Vargas in the capital.
Vargas, who lost on UFC 261, has a 1-2 record since joining the company.
This will be Pimbett's second fight since joining the UFC, following his spectacular UFC debut in September with a victory over Luigi Vendramini.
The Liverpudlian made the move from Cage Warriors in 2021, coming off the back of an impressive three-win streak.
This will be the first time a Fight Night will take place in London for three years - the last time saw a huge night of bouts with a number of ranked fighters in the octagon.
Elsewhere, British fighter heavyweight Tom Aspinall and fellow Merseyside fighter Molly McCann will both appear on the card.
Fights are expected to be announced in the coming days and weeks.
