Only five ball-carriers were clocked moving faster in Week 2 than Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed on his 22-yard run in the first half against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Next Gen Stats clocked Reed at a top speed of 20.54 miles per hour, making him the fastest ball-carrier from the Packers during the 2024 season and the sixth-fastest ball-carrier in the NFL in Week 2.
On the play, Reed lined up in the backfield and caught a backwards swing pass moving from his left to right. He turned the corner thanks to block from Christian Watson, hit the gas upfield and likely reached top speed at some point between the 20- and 30-yard lines.
As the kids say, Matt LaFleur was in his bag in Week 2.

Reed, who the Packers clocked in the 4.3s in the 40-yard dash coming out of Michigan State, has hit the accelerator plenty during the 2024 season already. He had a 33-yard touchdown run and a 70-yard touchdown catch in the opener, and he added two runs for 37 total yards on Sunday. Reed’s nine touches in 2024 have gained 171 yards from scrimmage. He led all players in receiving yards (138) coming out of Week 1 and now leads all NFL receivers in rushing yards (70) after two weeks.
Last season, Reed was the Packers’ fastest ball-carrier at 21.52 miles per hour on a 32-yard touchdown run in Week 11. It was the 17th fastest time in the NFL in 2023.
Reed wasn’t the only Packer showing off the jets on Sunday. Quarterback Malik Willis was clocked at a top speed of 19.96 miles per hour on a 12-yard run in the first quarter, making him the 16th fastest ball-carrier in Week 2 and the fastest quarterback overall. Willis finished with 41 rushing yards.
The fastest ball-carrier in Week 2? Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford, who hit 21.29 miles per hour on a 36-yard run against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
