The Green Bay Packers (3-6) will attempt to sweep the city of Los Angeles when the Chargers, now 4-5 after losing to the Detroit Lions in a shootout last week, arrive at Lambeau Field on Sunday. The Packers previously beat the Rams 20-3 earlier this month.
Brett Rypien won’t be starting on Sunday; it’ll be young gun Justin Herbert. Can the Packers get the season turned around with a big win over a top quarterback?
Here’s how the staff at Packers Wire believes the Week 11 showdown with the Chargers will go down:
Zach Kruse (6-3): Chargers 28, Packers 20
Brandon Carwile (5-4): Chargers 28, Packers 17
Paul Bretl (5-4): Chargers 27, Packers 20
Brennen Rupp: Chargers 34, Packers 24 (6-3)
Looking at this matchup on paper, one would expect the Chargers to boat-race the Packers. The Chargers have a long history of finding a way to lose games and their defense isn’t exactly turning heads. This game could turn into a shootout if Jordan Love and Green Bay’s offense continue to build off their performances the past two weeks. Maybe they’ll even get Christian Watson going, while Jayden Reed continues to showcase his dynamic playmaking ability. On the other side of the ball, the Packers will need to turn up the intensity level a notch or 10. Jaylen Warren did what he wanted, when he wanted last week and they face another difficult challenge this week in the form of Austin Ekeler. Green Bay’s young passing attack will continue to showcase their potential, but it won’t result in a win. Chargers win by double digits to drop the Packers to 3-7 overall.
