Packers to face Bears QB Justin Fields on Sunday

There will be no backup quarterback starting on Sunday at Soldier Field.

Not only is Aaron Rodgers (thumb, ribs) the expected starter for the Green Bay Packers, but Justin Fields (shoulder) wasn’t given an injury designation by the Chicago Bears on the final injury report and is expected to start on Sunday.

It’ll be Rodgers vs. Fields for at least one more time in this historic rivalry.

Fields injured his shoulder in Week 11 and missed the Bears’ Week 12 loss to the New York Jets. In his previous three games, Fields threw six touchdown passes and rushed for 410 yards and four more scores while the Bears averaged 28.8 points per game.

Can the Packers handle Fields’ ability in the run game and as a scrambler? Jalen Hurts just rushed for 157 yards as part of the Eagles’ 363-yard on-slaught on Sunday night in Philadelphia. Fields has rushed for 147 yards and 178 yards in games this season.

The Bears did rule out Trevor Siemian from the contest with an oblique injury. Former Packers quarterback Tim Boyle is expected to be a backup behind Fields on Sunday.
