Ozzy Osbourne's former guitarist 'shot multiple times' in 'random' attack in Las Vegas

Jack E. Lee is recovering in intensive care after being shot multiple times in Las Vegas

Ozzy Osbourne has been left "shocked" after his former guitarist, Jack E. Lee, was shot multiple times in a "random" attack in Las Vegas.

The 67-year-old musician - who was lead guitarist for the heavy metal legend between 1982 and 1987 - was out walking his dog when he became the victim of the shooting.

Police are investigating what they believe to be a "completely random" incident and Jack is expected to make a full recovery.

His representative told Rolling Stone: “Lee is fully conscious and doing well in an intensive care unit at a Las Vegas hospital. He is expected to fully recover.

“Las Vegas authorities believe the shooting was completely random and occurred while Lee took his dog out for a walk in the early morning hours. As the incident is under police investigation, no further comments will be forthcoming.

“Lee and his family appreciate respecting their privacy at this time.”

Reacting to the news, Ozzy, 75, branded it "just another senseless act of gun violence".

He told TMZ: “It’s been 37 years since I’ve seen Jake E. Lee, but that still doesn’t take away from the shock of hearing what happened to him today.

“It’s just another senseless act of gun violence. I send my thoughts to him and his beautiful daughter, Jade. I just hope he’ll be OK.”

Ozzy's former bandmate being shot comes after the Black Sabbath legend previously revealed he's fed up with the levels of gun violence in America in recent years, suggesting it was partly why he wanted to move back to the UK.

He told the Observer newspaper: "Everything’s f****** ridiculous here [in America]. I’m fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert … It’s f****** crazy.

"I don’t want to die in America. I don’t want to be buried in f****** Forest Lawn [cemetery in Los Angeles]. I’m English. I want to be back … It’s time for me to come home."
