Candace Owens challenges Andrew Wilson over Erika Kirk footage and metadata
Owens took aim at Wilson in a post on X, disputing his claims about the footage and the metadata attached to it. She argued that digital information linked to a photo or video does not, on its own, establish when or where the material was recorded.
Addressing Wilson directly, Owens wrote: “Andrew. I’ve come to the realization that you really aren’t that bright so I’m going to explain something to you that I believe you likely do not know. You can just edit metadata on any photo in your iPhone. You can do that right now.”
She then offered what she described as a demonstration, claiming she had changed the metadata on an older video to match the information Wilson presented.
“As an example—this is a video from 2019. I just now edited it to match your metadata.”
Owens' argument centres on whether metadata alone can establish the footage's authenticity and timeline. However, her demonstration, as described in the post, does not independently establish the video's original recording date or verify the history of the disputed material.
The disagreement has also drawn attention to the question of who recorded the footage and whether Erika has publicly confirmed the circumstances surrounding it.

“Please stop. If you don’t know something as basic as this about your iPhone, you need to just stop speaking altogether. There is no reason to commit to being Turning Point’s jester. It’s not worth the money. Please have some self-respect as a man and retire from this clown position.”
Owens also made clear that she wanted confirmation directly from Erika rather than relying on competing interpretations of the video.
“A simple on-record statement, directly from Erika Kirk will suffice,” she wrote.
She described the sharing of the family footage as deeply troubling, particularly given its connection to Charlie Kirk's final hours with his children.
Owens also turned attention to the criminal case involving Tyler Robinson, who has been charged with aggravated murder and other offences in connection with Charlie Kirk's fatal shooting at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.
“As an aside, have you learned the charges against Tyler Robinson yet? I feel that’s a better place for you to begin,” Owens wrote.
The latest exchange leaves key questions unresolved. Owens disputes the conclusions drawn from the footage, while the video's metadata and recording circumstances remain central to the public disagreement.
