Cops have raced to a 'serious accident' on a busy Scots road as images show of an overturned lorry.
Emergency services rushed to the M74 between junction 10-11 shortly before 8am on Saturday, January 29.
Officers from Police confirmed a two-car collision, with an overturned lorry at the scene blocking part of the carriageway.
The road is closed in both directions near to Lanark as emergency crews deal with the incident.
Diversions are in place with traffic travelling northbound coming off at J12 and traffic travelling southbound coming off at J9.
Police are urging motorists to avoid the area at this time while they deal with a 'serious accident'.
It's not yet known if anyone has been injured in the smash.
Footage of the aftermath shared on social shows a large lorry overturned alongside a car, which appears to have been involved in the collision.
Huge tailbacks can also be seen in the clip, with the crash causing major delays and congestion also affecting motorists on the B7078.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 7:50am on Sunday January 29 to reports of a two-car crash on the M74, southbound."
