A young couple have spoken out on experiencing a terrifying attack by their neighbour and described how the case has left them disillusioned with the criminal justice system. Thomas Rogers, 24, and Morgan ApIvor, 25, were living in the same Nantyffyllon High Street block of flats as Donna Nickerson when she slammed Morgan's head against a wall, pulled her hair, and scratched her arms leaving them with deep scars.
Nickerson, a 46-year-old with 22 previous convictions, later flashed a knife at Thomas. She walked free from court last week after receiving a suspended sentence. You can read our court report here.
The couple claimed the authorities' handling of the case has at times been "shambolic". They were left in disbelief over Nickerson being bailed back to their building in Maesteg without them being informed as well as avoiding a knife charge and being spared jail.
