Our Liverpool: Remembering Juice FM

Hello and welcome to Our Liverpool.

This morning I've been reading our story on Juice FM. It had completely rebranded just before I arrived here and I'd always just half-assumed that Capital FM (what the station became) has been here forever. It's a really strong read and all the pictures are definitely of their time.

If you didn't catch it yesterday, homes in one part of Liverpool were plunged into darkness after neighbours heard what they described as an "explosion" from a local electrical substation, which was found on fire. A number of homes were left without power due to the incident.

Gang storm Mcdonalds and attack staff

Elsewhere a gang of youths in balaclavas stormed the Mcdonald's on East Lancashire Road and attacked a staff member. A video shared with the ECHO caught the event, as worried customers gasp in shock and shout "no, no, no."

Baby died after midwife failed to recognise critical condition

A Wirral midwife is still able to work in a hospital after they failed to recognise the life threatening condition of a baby in their care. Peter Clinton did not recognise or report concerns about the loss of contact with a baby's heartbeat, which could've helped prevent the baby's death a week later.

'Lovely' dad died on holiday to watch darts

Jonathan Gelling was visiting Butlins earlier this month to watch the UK Open Darts tournament with his partner and friends when he died. Jonathan's partner woke up the morning after the first part of the tournament, before she and friends tried to save his life with CPR.

Charlotte Hadfield spoke to friend Lisa Donoghue who said "having to resuscitate him was probably one of the worst experiences of my life."
