Welcome to Friday morning's instalment of Our Liverpool, the twice daily round-up taking a closer look at the talking points on Merseyside.
It's a happy Friday indeed as payday has finally arrived for a lot of people across the region, marking the end of the longest month in history.
Here's a round-up of some news we've been covering in recent days and whatever you're doing this weekend, stay safe and have fun.

Bow down to Blackdoor
Local favourite Blackdoor Bar & Bistro in West Derby has been ranked number one out of 1,351 restaurants in the city on TripAdvisor. Run by Joe Worrall and his fiancée Sian Carberry, the independent business is renowned for its breakfasts and burgers. Joe told the ECHO he was "completely overwhelmed" at the news. He added: "I feel like it's a reward for all the time and effort I have put in to making this a success."
Eurovision fever
The ECHO has created a new newsletter for all things Eurovision in the run up to the event this summer. Christopher Megrath is leading the coverage, which will include interviews, breaking news, what's happening in the city and much more. You can sign up here.
New life for libraries
Four libraries closed by Wirral Council could be revived by schools and community groups in the area, according to our man on the ground Ed Barnes. Proposals will now be voted on to decide the future of the sites in Higher Bebington, Woodchurch, Wallasey Village and Irby.
Rail rage
Amid the celebrations on Merseyrail this week as the long-awaited new trains arrived, there was chaos elsewhere. Our reporter Liam Thorp was caught up in rail hell on his way to and from the Conference of the North in Manchester, which is the biggest annual gathering of northern politicians and leaders in the calendar. The experience put the region's neglect by central government in the spotlight once again. You can read Liam's opinion piece here.
